Hairstyles

After giving Charlie a bath one day I decided to try some different hair styles on her to see if her hair would do anything else.  Needless to say they all looked absolutely hilarious!  Plus we found out that no matter how we comb her hair, when its dry it stands straight up.

The L O N G awaited arrival

I'll warn you....this is a long one!

When Charlie arrived Monday afternoon it ended a VERY long "waiting" period and for those that know me I don't wait very well! :)

Mentally I think I would have been better if I hadn't known that at 35 weeks I was measuring 2.5 weeks ahead.  That got me thinking....."Ooo...this Baby is going to be here before her due date."  Stupid thinking I know!  So as each week passed and the 23rd (her actual due date) got closer and closer I got more impatient.  At 38 weeks the Doctor started talking about the option of inducing labor.  The earliest they would do it was 39 weeks.  We decided to wait until our next appointment (which was 39 weeks and 3 days) and see how things looked then.  Well, that day came and we weren't any closer to things happening than the week before.  So we set up an elective induction for the following day.

That night at home I got everything ready as we had to call the hospital at 6:30am to see if we could get in.  As it was an elective induction, they take those as they have room.  I was told to call back at 10am.  Seriously...I had to wait 3.5 MORE hours!
So I called back at 10 am and was told its still not looking good for today but they would call me by mid afternoon and let me know a definite answer if I was getting in or not.  The call came at 2, "Nope, not today!"  And the kick in the ass was they put me down on the list for Monday (10/24) as Friday and Saturday were full.  So now I had to wait 3.5 MORE DAYS!  What was I going to do to keep busy at 39 weeks pregnant for 3.5 days???  Luckily between Pete, my parents, and Kathy (Pete's Mom) I managed to make it to Monday morning.

Just a few of the many things we did that weekend;
*Drove to Red Wing to walk around the shops
*Played lots of cards
*Went to a movie
*Got my eyebrows done (hey....maybe she wouldn't like the waxing and decide that was a good time to come on her own!)
*Went out to eat numerous times
*Went shopping for baby clothes (Pete was in the buying mood so I took full advantage of it)

When Monday morning finally arrived and we had to call in at 6:30am again, I told Pete that I don't know what I would do if they said they couldn't take me.
Luckily when I called they told me it was really quiet and that I should arrive at 7:30 and they would get things started!  HALLELUJAH!!!!

We arrived at 7:30 and it took them less than 15 minutes to get everything started.  At 3:53pm little not so little Charlie arrived!
