Dinner Weeks 1 & 2

I'm a little behind in posting this!  Pete was gone for a week, Charlie and I have been sick and time seems to slip away.....

Week 1:
Madison and I made homemade pizza.

We used Pillsbury Thin Crust pizza dough.  It was good, but I should have pre-baked the crust so it was a bit crispier.  Oh well!

The sauce was Ranch Dressing and then we put bacon, black olives (only on 1/2 as M doesn't like them) cheese, and the leftover rotisserie chicken from the night before.  YUM!

Week 2:

Well.....I actually made gourmet Mac & Cheese with bacon bits and a bread crumb topping,  but I totally forgot to take pictures of it!  DUH!
Oh well, I could post a pic of the leftovers!  Ha-Ha!!!!

Now, what to make this week??!!??

I never thought I would hear that in bed......

Contrary to the title, this IS a "G" rated post!! :)

When we finally call it a night and head to bed, both Pete and I like to unwind by playing on our phones.  Whether its browsing twitter or facebook, playing Words with Friends, solitare for me or any number of the games Pete has on his phone, its our quiet time with no kids, no talking, total darkness except for the light from our phones.  Well last night Pete decided to bring his new iPad to bed to play games on.

Thankfully he was smart and brought along headphones as I HATE having to listen to the sounds of his games.  Like I just said "Total Quiet!"

I looked over once and saw this....

So after a few more minutes I glaced over and he was playing something else.  I guess he must have crashed his plane and died!

Awhile later I hear "Dammit, I was just killed by a bear!"  And this wasn't just in a normal voice, it was in the "I don't know how loud my voice really is as I have headphones on" voice.  I smacked him as I didn't want him to wake up Charlie who was sound asleep.

After the screen faded from total red (I guess all of his blood from being killed by a bear) he went on to try and hunt some more animals and I went back to my compelling game of solitare, in TOTAL silence!!!!!

Where does she come up with this stuff?!?!

A few weeks ago Madison and I were sitting on the couch watching TV and having a conversation (it must not have been too important as I don't recall what it was about) and after a few minutes Madison decided she had better things to do than sit and talk to me!

Me:  I asked her some sort of question.
Madison: (Without a single pause) "Madison's not available right now, but please leave a message after the beep and she will get back to you!  BEEP!"

New Years Resolution

I've never been one for resolutions but I've decided that this year I am going to make one.

I am going to cook dinner once a week.  By cook I mean actually make something that doesn't just get heated in the microwave or oven.  Up until now, anything that we "cook" in this house is done by Pete.  I know...I know... he works all day and then comes home and makes dinner while I am at home all day!  DO NOT feel bad for him.....he has known this for 5 1/2 years and obviously it wasn't a major problem as he still married me!!! ;)
I truly don't mind cooking, but being that Pete is much better at it and is willing to do it, I just don't.

Now I know resolutions are suppose to last all year, but I will continue this on through April.  After that it's going back to "What can we eat that is quick and healthy" as our lives go from boring winter mode into full on spring/summer chaos.  Between Pete and I playing sand volleyball, Pete playing softball and Madison is in traveling soccer, we usually don't know if we're coming or going from May-August!

I will try to document what I make each week.  I am going to try new recipes so if you have any great ones or a great site to find some please let me know.
